What you should know about Sunlight

You might have come across in the news that sunlight causes skin cancer these statements have been not supported by science.

if you look at the scientific research on sunlight and skin cancer it clearly shows that sunlight doesn’t cause skin cancer.

Dr. Alexander Wunsch tells why sunlight is so important & why UV-B rays from the sun doesn’t cause cancer.

 The studies which claim that sunlight can cause cancer were conducted with mice and UV-B lamps only. The mice were put in a cage and irradiated with UV lamps. The mice were not exposed to sunlight but were only exposed to UV light lamps. By the way, mice are nocturnal animals with fur. Other studies were conducted in petri dishes where cells were not protected by the skin which naturally produces melanin that can effectively absorb UV rays and also use it as energy.

The WHO classifies UV-B radiation as a class-1 carcinogenic. It is like classifying oxygen as a class-1 carcinogen just because it is the precursor molecule for reactive oxygen (free radicals) in the body, which often are the starting point for cancerization in the cell.—– So we should all stop breathing.

It is important to know that sunlight has a wide range spectrum which contains: rainbow colors & infrared rays which are responsible for reversing the damage caused by UV light. Therefore, it is dangerous to only be exposed to UV light.

The wrong conclusion is that sunlight causes skin cancer. But sunlight is not equal to UV-B lamps because sunlight always contains the full spectrum

We cannot say that sunlight causes skin cancer or any type of cancer. On the contrary, there are numerous studies proving that sunlight decreases all-cause mortality and improves the ability of the body to heal from sickness & diseases.

Sunlight has many benefits. It is an essential part of a healthy lifestyle.

if your body is not exposed to enough sunlight you will be deficient in Vitamin D.

Vitamin D is an essential vitamin or I should say hormone. If your vitamin levels are low your immune function, your ability to fight off disease viruses and flu will decrease significantly.

It regulates the functions of over 200 genes and is essential for growth and development.

Low vitamin D levels have also been shown to cause diseases. And high levels were shown to be protective against diabetes, cardiovascular and heart disease, Alzheimer’s and many more.

What is more, sunlight is the precursor to many essential hormones. What I mean by that is you cannot make hormones efficiently from proteins. Your melatonin, serotonin dopamine levels will always be low without sunlight. If your hormone levels are messed up your body cannot function properly. In the beginning, you might not even realize it. But over time this can lead to many health problems such as low energy levels, depression or depressed mindset, headaches, thyroid dysfunctions, diabetes, increased weight gain, heart problems.

Vitamin D3 deficiency can result in obesity, diabetes, hypertension, depression, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, osteoporosis and neurodegenerative diseases including Alzheimer’s disease. Vitamin D deficiency may even contribute to the development of cancers, especially breast, prostate, and colon cancers. Current research indicates vitamin D deficiency plays a role in causing seventeen varieties of different cancers as well as heart disease, stroke, autoimmune diseases, birth defects, and periodontal disease. Vitamin D status depends on the production of vitamin D 3 in the skin under the influence of ultraviolet radiation from the sun.

So, it is very important that your hormone levels are put in balance. Without sunlight, your body will always struggle to produce essential hormones.

Vitamin D Deficiency- An Ignored Epidemic

The National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey found that 50 percent of children aged one to five years, and 70 percent of children between the ages of six and 11, are deficient in vitamin D

Researchers such as Dr. Holick estimate that 50 percent of the general population is at risk of vitamin D deficiency.

Research shows that adults who always wear sunscreen, or spend most of their time indoors suffer from vitamin D insufficiency.3

Dark-skinned people and the elderly are also at high risk of low vitamin D levels

Optimal vitamin D levels are between 50 and 70 ng/ml 

We need much more sunlight.

How much sunlight is needed? According to Dr. Jack Kruse and many health professionals (Dr. Mercola, Dr. Boros), we need more sunlight than is suggested by the media and mainstream science. 

If we would like to make sure we get all the benefits from sunlight, we should really spend more time under the Sun.

Since most of us working indoors and we spend most of our time in the house, our bodies got used to little sunlight time.

To be able to absorb sunlight our body needs to be accommodated to it. But if you just go out on the hottest day of summer and spend all day outside and expect that you won’t get burnt – that might not be true.

How to not get burnt without sunscreen?

1.  First, you need to watch the sunrise, which will prepare your skin and your hormones to prepare for the day. Sunrise is rich in blue and infrared rays and is absent of UV rays. This light spectrum will help your body to produce cortisol and set your circadian rhythm. Your circadian rhythm is responsible for hormone regulation, and balance. (17)

When you stay up late at night your circadian rhythm can’t work properly, you will produce cortisol which will make it even harder to have a deep, refreshing sleep. Melatonin secretion also suffers, which means your cells cannot regenerate and heal at night. Apoptosis also called cell death is much faster.

2.  In order to absorb more UV light, your skin cells need to be healthy and highly conductive.

Unhealthy skin will not be able to absorb much sunlight and will burn fast.

To increase your ability to sunbathe more and not get burnt, you will have to do at least 5 things.

a) Drink unfluoridated clean water (preferably spring water, or good filtered water)

b) Ground your body (get skin contact with the Earth- which massively improves blood flow in the skin and body)

c)  Use Infrared Light therapy panels or better watch sunrise and sunset. Both can stimulate our cells to produce more ATP (Adenosine triphosphate – the basic energy molecule in the body). Watching the sunrise has many other benefits too, for example, it sets our circadian rhythm – our body clock

d) Use cold showers when your body gets red or overheated. A cold shower can directly impact your ability to absorb more UV light. Not only that but cold showers have also many massive benefits. It can also reverse mild skin burn and decrease the pain significantly. It is much better than any other soothing lotion

e) Mitigate nnEMF (electromagnetic frequencies)(18). What I mean by that is do not use Wi-Fi, 4G, Bluetooth, smart meters and stay away from cellphone towers. These radiations have been proven to be unsafe and can easily cause skin cancer, brain cancer, headaches, nosebleeds, decreased sperm, infertility, ringing in the ear, depression, inability to focus and many other issues.

Our skin cells also suffer from these rays and impact their ability to absorb sunlight.

Additional benefits of Sunlight

1.  It causes our arteries to expand by releasing nitric oxide into the bloodstream. It directly affects high blood pressure and naturally helps lowering it.

2.  Nitric oxide has also been shown to help:

Boost metabolism, regulate blood pressure and enhance brain waves. It can also help increase weight loss.

When under sunlight, the body sends massive amounts of nitric oxide into the bloodstream, greatly increasing cardiovascular strength. NO (nitric oxide) can even reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes when in sunlight.

3.  New research found that it also helps diversify the gut microbiome 4

The study was quite remarkable and the researchers were also impressed by the effects of UV-B rays positively affecting the gut microbiome.

Sunscreen causes cancer

Sunscreen has been proven to cause cancer. It can cause cancer in 2 ways.

1.  It is well known in the scientific literature that blocking the UV-B rays from the sun will cause inadequate vitamin D levels. Low vitamin D levels can easily lead to cancer over time.

2.  90% of sunscreens contain chemicals which our skin cells absorb and are proven to be harmful and even carcinogenic. (11, 12, 13, 14).

Results revealed significant penetration of all sunscreen agents into the skin, meaning that all of these chemicals are entering our bloodstream, and as a result, entering multiple organs and cells within the body (5).

Some harmful chemicals are: Oxybenzone, Methylisothiazolinone, Retinyl Palmitate

Sunscreen Circulates in Blood for Weeks.

·         These chemicals may speed the development of skin tumors and lesions,

·         Can cause serious skin allergies in children, (18)

·         Can cause hormone disruption and cell damage (16)

·         Can damage DNA (20). 

How to treat sunburn

If you are really pale and can easily get sunburns in the first place improve your ability to absorb UV-B light which we described above.

If you already got a sunburn we suggest taking a cold shower or bath and after that put some aloe Vera or VCO (virgin coconut oil) on your skin which decreases the inflammations caused by the burn and fastens the healing process.
